Change has been on my mind of late... Especially as we move into the winter season. As I awoke to 18 degree temps yesterday morning I was aware winter is here to stay for a little while. Time to adjust, to embrace the layers. The painting above is layering up nicely and will continue to change with each new brushstroke. Having a large jar of titanium white to dive into is fun and freeing while creating a painting. Tinting bright colors, creating my own creams, grays, pastels. Then contrasting a soft palette against bold, deep, concentrated hues. In the next few months I will be focusing on the landscape, and how the seasons change. How the  vibration of the same field, pathway, waterway can feel extremely different - just by the affect of weather.    What do you find beautiful about our winters here in Illinois?
